Choosing Your Kingdom
Every day, we choose which kingdom we'll serve through our decisions, priorities, and allegiances.
Jesus declared, "You are from beneath, I am from above. You are of this world, I am not of this world." This wasn't just a statement about His origin - it was a declaration about two completely different kingdoms with opposing values, purposes, and destinies. Every day, we choose which kingdom we'll serve through our decisions, priorities, and allegiances. The coming deception will present alternative kingdoms that seem appealing, promising enlightenment, power, or solutions to humanity's problems. These false messiahs will offer what appears to be salvation, claiming authority to grant access to higher realms or spiritual advancement. But Jesus remains the only way to the Father, the only true bridge between heaven and earth. Our preparation for deception isn't about becoming paranoid or isolating ourselves from the world. It's about becoming so rooted in Christ's kingdom that we naturally recognize anything that contradicts His character and claims. When we live as citizens of heaven while serving on earth, when we find our identity in Christ rather than worldly achievements, we develop the spiritual clarity needed to choose correctly when presented with competing kingdoms. The question isn't whether we'll face these choices, but whether we'll be ready to choose Jesus even when other options seem more attractive or convenient. Bible Verse You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. - John 8:23 (New King James Version) Reflection Question What practical steps can you take today to live more as a citizen of heaven than as someone whose primary allegiance is to this world? Quote Two thousand years ago, you had a being come to earth and saying, without me you can't go there. Now you're going to have another being saying, without me you can't go there. How will you know who right or wrong? Prayer Jesus, help me live as a true citizen of Your kingdom, with my heart and priorities aligned with heaven rather than earth. Keep me faithful to You alone when other kingdoms try to claim my allegiance.
